On June 26, a cross-border e-commerce event took place in Hengqin, aiming to help manufacturing enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) expand into the Latin American market and assist Chinese brands in going global.

Representatives from major cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Mercado Libre, Amazon, Shopee, and Falabella, along with industry leaders including the head of Tomato Technology, shared insights on topics like the latest trends in the Latin American market, recruitment policies, and site operation strategies.

The China-Latin America economic and trade relationship is thriving, with significant digital potential in the Latin American market. Cross-border e-commerce is one of the key industries for the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, which has established a new e-commerce ecosystem supported by policies, industrial parks, and key enterprises.

The cooperation zone will collaborate with the China-Portuguese Economic and Trade Centre to explore market potential and build a new cross-border e-commerce ecosystem.

Several strategic cooperation agreements were signed at the event, marking a significant step in cross-border e-commerce collaboration and a commitment to boosting the Latin American e-commerce market.

The event also featured a supply-demand matchmaking and communication session, helping enterprises meet their individual needs for policies, traffic acquisition, and supply chain management, thereby promoting deep integration of the industrial chain.

In 2024, China-Latin America trade reached a record high of 518.47 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%. The event injected strong momentum into Greater Bay Area enterprises' expansion into the Latin American market and deepened regional cooperation.
